| Q.
Will the VTA1000 & VPT1000 work with any long
distance service? A. The Skype version of the VTA1000 and VPT1000 is designed to work with the proprietary technology based calling services provided by http://www.skype.com . For clarification Skype does NOT use either the H.323 or SIP protocols used by most service providers and have their own unique protocol technology which includes voice encryption on user to user calls. To allow product users the ability to place calls to/from the multitude of SIP networks and users, the VTA1000 and VPT1000 supports dual mode SIP calling and has been tested to work with 30+ SIP service providers as follows http://www.pcphoneline.com/configurations . |

The setup information for these providers and many others is available here http://www.pcphoneline.com/configurations . |

| Q.
May I place Skype and SIP calls to/from my mobile phone? A. Yes. For this you will need a VTA1000 Gateway and a VPC1000 port converter set up exactly as described here http://www.pcphoneline.com/vpc1000.htm . You will program your mobile phone number into the VPC1000 port converter and it will automatically forward all incoming calls to that number via your home phone line. Likewise, when you call your home phone line from your mobile phone you will automatically be connected to and hear dialtone from the VTA1000 Gateway to place Skype calls. |

| Q.
Can I remotely access my home or office phone line using
Skype? A. Yes. For this you will need a VTA1000 Gateway and a VPC1000 port converter set up exactly as described here http://www.pcphoneline.com/vpc1000.htm . You will simply call the Skype account you have associated with the VTA1000 Gateway and when you hear dialtone from your home phone line you will dial the telephone number you wish to call using the DTMF keypad built into the Skype dialer. For the best experience, you may also install a VTA1000 Gateway at the remote location you are located and then dial using a cordless or regular phone without using the Skype dialer. |

| Q.
Can I make Skype available on my PBX so all my staff can
access it from their regular extension phones? A. Yes. You may simply connect the VTA1000 Gateway directly to a spare trunk line on your PBX (i.e. the trunk lines on your PBX you normally connect to a PSTN telephone line). The VTA1000 Gateway will of course have a Skype account associated with it. You will then assign and program a special code on the PBX for that spare trunk line (i.e. "8") so that when anybody on the PBX dials "8" will be connected through to the VTA1000 Skype Gateway instead of the PSTN. To place a Skype call users will simply dial "8" and will hear dialtone from the VTA1000 Gateway. They will then dial the 1-2 digit speed dial number associated with another Skype user or place a "Skypeout" call to a person with a regular phone. If you wish, calls may also be placed to your PBX from remote Skype users and their calls will arrive at the main attendant exactly the same way incoming PSTN calls arrive. If you do NOT have a spare trunk line available on your PBX, you may connect the VTA1000 Gateway to a spare analog phone extension using the VPC1000 port converter. For this you will need a VTA1000 Gateway and a VPC1000 port converter set up exactly as described here http://www.pcphoneline.com/vpc1000.htm . |

| Q.
May I use Skype to connect 2 sites with PBXs together to
cut out all the long distance charges? A. Yes. The simplest solution will be to install 1 x VTA1000 Gateway at each location and connect it directly to a spare trunk line on each PBX (i.e.the trunk lines that you normally connect to a PSTN telephone line). Each VTA1000 Gateway will of course have a Skype account associated with it. You will then assign and program a special code on the PBX for that spare trunk line (i.e. "8") so that when anybody on the PBX dials "8" will be connected through to the VTA1000 Gateway instead of the PSTN. You will ALSO datafill the special hotline feature on the VTA1000 Gateway to automatically call the Skype user name associated with the other PBX when a call is initiated. To place a call to the other PBX site, users will simply dial "8" and will then automatically be connected to the attendant on the other PBX. If the other PBX site has an IVR capability, they may then dial the extension number they want from their telephone keypad. |

Phone-Phone calls? A. No. You just pick up your telephone handset and call as you normally would with any regular home or office telephone. The VTA1000 and VPT1000 will even automatically dial up an Internet connection for you when you lift your telephone handset if a connection is not already present. |
